Digital Aertel

I have a Samsung LE37B650 and have the DTT working perfectly on it except for one or two small things. When I have my country set to Ireland on my tv and try to turn on digital aertel I get the blue borders with rte aertel on the top right, the 4 colours on the bottom, and the tv and an advertisement on the left but I get no writing at all, just black where it should be. When I set my country to the uk the text works perfectly but my channels are in a messed up order (starting from channel 800 up, as opposed to 1-16) which is annoying having to go through all the radio stations just to get to TG4. Does anyone else have this problem? Also I cant get the soarview epg to appear at all.

it appears your samsung is the same as mine LE40C650, in that it only supports MHEG5 when set to the UK, not when set to ireland. not much you cna do i'm afraid. Nothing on MHEG5 to want at the moment anyway, the Samsung EPG is much better

My brother's Samsung is set to Ireland and displays regular teletext on RTÉ/TV3/TG4 but on RTÉ News Now Digital Aertel comes up. Have noticed this also on some Samsung TVs on display in stores.

I'll stick with the country set to Ireland as anything on text can be gotten from regular aertel & the Samsung epg does everything I need (I can set reminders to tell me when something is starting), except that the time is an hour behind.

On my epg it now says it's 12.56, it's like this since the clocks went forward in march. I know a few other people who have this problem too.

Excuse me for butting in here, I bought a Samsung LCD today I did the scan for digital and analogue, the DTT I can access but I can't see how to select the analogue channels. I'm sure its easy but the manuel isn't too helpful to my bleary eyes.

they are all listed together the digital channels will have the names, teh analog ones just numbers till you rename them

are you receiving the analog channels?

I worked a way out, just press the next channel button until I've got past the DTT channels. The analogue is poor with lots of snow on TV3 and TG4 though RTE 1 is pretty okay (the ariel really is a zero budget job) so I was surprised that it picked up a digital signal.

Now I'm wondering how long they'll keep it on for...I could get used to it.

Better digital reception than analog is pretty stsndard

    Hi all,

i got a Panasonic TXP42G10L and receive analogue and digital services - RTE1/RTE2HD incl RTEJr etc incl the part time encoded RTE1+1; but i can only get analogue teletext on RTE1 and TV3 and TG4 - nothing on the other channels and definitely nothing digital.

My signal strength is 10, getting digital service from Castlebar (?) on channel 22.

When is digital teletext coming and will my tv cope with it? I cannot see any settings for MHEG5 anywhere to toggle it on or off nor to check its status.

Any tips / help etc appreciated.

    Cheers all
