    Hi all,just wondering whats the story if i bought a G-REG aircraft and based it in Ireland.Is it compulsory to get it changed over onto the EI-REG.(Register).

    I really don't think its compulsory, not like a car, have a flick tru Civil Aircraft Markings, loads of G regs registered to Irish owners and based in Ireland. Plenty of N regs based in Ireland too without having to be re-registered.

    No it's not. You can fly any JAA registered aircraft. Obviously the paperwork must be done in accordance with the state of registration. Other than that there is no problem. A lot of people think there's no point in handing over cash to the IAA for no real benefit.
