    Hi,
An elderly relative of my wifes asked me to be executor of her will 1 1/2years ago, she passed away a few days ago. Do I now wait until contact is made by her solicitor? or am I expected to make contact with the solicitor - there is no documentation to prove I was asked to be executor so I don't really know what is expected. Any advice appreciated.

A will would contain a clause naming the executor of the estate.
