Why? I was just seeing what your answer would be didn't fancy replying if it was somebody that was going to start trolling and ripping into people for not working which is going around a lot lately.

    Anyway

Any chance of another choice in the answers just for me :D

University qualified, working part time but not in desired field.

Is their much work no, is their work out there yes but damn you have to fight hard to get it. Its the people without the huge experience who are stuck in the middle at the moment. Although it works both ways i have been turned down for jobs because wait........... i was overqualified and for others because i didnt have enough experience:rolleyes:

I have a Diploma in Electronic Engineering, and I haven't worked in that field since I graduated in 2007.

I had to do something, so was doing admin in an insurance brokers, earning half the money that I should have been earning, before they had to make cutbacks, and the old last in first out priniciple prevailed.

Even now looking for Engineering jobs in my field, they want experience which I dont have, and the large employers that used to take on grads such as Intel etc. aren't interested any more.

Employed and working in what you're qualified in.
I have a job at the moment in telesales, but I think I will be let go very soon, every day I think I am going to be let go and it's not good as it effects my work. First time I ever done telesales, I started here as a data entry clerk but they asked me to go onto the sales team. No experience and the support here is rubbish. so meh... :(

Im working for the past 10 weeks or so, in a kind of admin job that has nothing to do with my qualification, which is in town planning. I am earning less than half what I was, but damn glad to have a job all the same. Finding it hard to keep motivated as its not very interesting, but I have to count myself lucky as the hours are full time and week days, and its very close to where I am living so no travel expenses really.

Unemployed since graduation last year and weary from continually thinking what is the best move to make...labour market activation programme has very little suitable courses in contrast to last year..

Teagasc, Dept. of Agriculture are not able to take on people through the FAS Work Placement Programme due to the ongoing embargo aside from the fact they are State Bodies. To my knowledge you can only apply for a work placement in the private sector and semi-state bodies....anybody have further info to offer on the Work Placement Programme for Graduates run by FAS?

Got laid off at Xmas for the 3rd time in 5 years. Vicious circle really. You get a new job, things get tough and they have to let people go and if you're only there a year or so you're cheap to get rid of. Have made huge changes in budget. Used to spend e80 per month on sky and another e50 a week on lunch. I look after my son now (saving another e250 per week Creche fee) and am quite happy. Am 41 and can't see me working for the next few years. Thankfully my wife is school teacher and we're on tracker mortgage so we should be ok. Have been working since I was 19 so intend to bleed the state dry.

You won't be bleeding them much when you run out of prsi stamps and you get means tested.
