    I will fail!

Pretty straight forward exam. 78% in my mocks and hopefully push it up :)
Same topics for long questions every year, Orthographic, rotations, geometric imagery (translations etc), solids in contact, axonemetric/isometric scale and the ellipse/parabola.
Short questions have the odd one-three that requires no actual study of TG either so all in all, this exam is quite preparable and do-able. Only major problem is time restrictions

I'm not gonna do well in this!
I got 75% in the mocks but that's only because our teacher made a mixed paper of OL and HL and I did mostly OL :/
Thankfully it's my last exam haha.

75 is even good if it was mixed between both! I'm sure you'll do grand! :)

    As for me! :(
I don't like thinking about it will try do some revision at the weekend!

    I hope so!

What did you get in the mocks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭Gentlemanne

Just do questions on the weekend for study.

Great, great site for revision is http://www.practicalstudent.com/tg.html

The notes are okay but the exam papers section is really good. It goes step by step through every question and even short question of the exams

I really dislike this subject with a passion. But a lot less work than art and music so I suppose we win  I don't think our class has done work in over a year. Our teacher sits and we sit. Every five minutes he blurts, "Ah, what's wrong?", looks around, and goes back to whatever he's doing. This is going to be a fun exam. :P

I should be sound for this. I got 69% in the mocks with very little study, so im hoping to get B...

My teacher passed me I'd say I mean I couldn't have for the pre I
Slept for the first hour, complained to a teacher to let me go the bathroom THEN forced her to get me a drink or I'd walk out and get it myself...

I was very sick and tbh there is no way I passed, he done it to give me "confidence" wont be any confidence in September!

You should bring your own drawing board OP, just in case. Better to have one and not need it than not have one and need it!

am bringing one just in case

    so how did everybody do?

Ellipse/Parabola (Boat logo)- easy. Got all the little details like the rudder and the tandent okay

Isometric Scale (Boiler?)- really easy. No trouble at all

Translation, central symmetry etc. (Butterfly logo)- easy enough but a bit confusng. By the time I got to rotation I messed something up and the lines ddnt go through the centre of the circle (P4) but it was okay.

Orthographic projection (Castle)- prettyhard, glad I left it last. Got a bit done

Overall I'd say it was a pretty easy exam. Some lad put his short question answer booklet on my desk and I almost looked in it thinking t was mine, but I noticed his exam number on the front which he wrote in red pen :pac:

    I thought it was kinda hard. Q1, Q2 & Q5 were easy.

I barely had any time to do Q6 but it was hard anyway.

The short questions were ok too.

    Hoping for a B.

I did crap in this but I'm finished now so I don't really care haha!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 140 ✭✭whistlin_boy

Did Q2 (rotation), Q4 (solids in contact), Q5 (transformation geometry) and Q6 (ellipse and parabola).

Reckon I did okay, solids in contact was a bit confusing.....draw a development of one slanted side, but other than that it was fine:D;):D.

Were should the new position of the rotation have been? Because I think I did it wrong :o

I only done 3 long questions I spent ages trying to do the axonametric but it didn't work! :(
I done the elipse - Was pretty good happiest with it anyways!
Rotation - Easy just is a pain rotating every single point I mean it doesn't prove anything does it?

Overall I done pretty crap! :) I don't care though didn't touch a book and now I never have to do tech graph again so I think it's I that win! :)

all you had to do was rotate four points of the circle? the top, bottom left hand side and right hand side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,171 ✭✭✭kevin12345

all you had to do was rotate four points of the circle? the top, bottom left hand side and right hand side

Is that how you do it? Oh I divide the circle up using my 30/60 degree set square then bring up the points:D

Eh but it was a circle? It wouldn't be a very accurate one if you only took four?

sure it would, you only need to use the compass on those points anyway to make the butterfly.
