How to become UnSelf-Employed ?

    Here goes !!

I became self-employed in Dec 2009. I had to go self-employed in Dec as the company I was working for stipulated it and the work just was not given to me by them. So to say there has been no work in my field is an under-statement.

I've decided to go traveling from Sept for about two years.

So how do I sort out my tax affairs. 2009 will be easy to sort out but what will I do for the 2010 Tax year, as I'll be out of the country when my tax return will be due

    Any help would be great.

If you register on ROS then you can complete your return while you are travelling or alternatively when the 2010 Form 11 is available for download then you can print it off and post it to the Revenue wherever you are in the world.

    Bon Voyage!

Consider 'split-year residence relief' otherwise you will be taxable on all income earned away (if any income is earned away of course)
