Wouldnt it be great if more flight crews could show their human side to the passengers.

Im sure it would calm down the nervous flyer and have a positive feeling in general on the flight, but alas I cant see the powers to be at the top of the Airline ladder let it catch on.

Mr O Leary might charge for the show :)

Yeah, a bit of humour can relax nervous flyers. Air new Zealand took a different approach to the usually boring safety video. I suppose it might make more people watch it, what with naked people and all. (safe for work)

Reminds me of years ago of a Dublin bus crew ( when they had conductors) there was two very funny guys who did a little airline routine before they left the terminus first thing in the morning.
It was very funny, the conductor with the shiny faragh trousers would do all the exit and life jacket nonsense and the driver would welcome everyone on board , announce our ETA in Pearse st, weather on route with some turbulence expected around Rathmines.
    They would brighten everyone's day

The problem lies with the fact that 'comedy' can easier be mistaken for incompetance. Not every nervous passenger will be reassured by a crew who make jokes. In addition not everyone is able to 'do comedy' very well.
