Irish Moles

I was watching BBC1 this morning and they had an intresting piece on Moles, apparently running amuck in England and the numbers increased to between 30 and 40 million. Whats the crack with these brown, blind, burrying, beady eyed, bug eating beasties in Ireland though?

They're not treated very well in some gardens, considered pests :-( perhaps it's just as well Ireland doesn't have them the country has gone so vain over their lawns the poor things wouldn't stand a chance even in the countryside.

I love moles, great little critter.
