Can anyone advise of a family car that can be purchased for 14k or under.

    Preference is 2008 onwards.

Something that can take a buggie.

    Cash ready and waiting.

when you say take a buggy, do you mean without breaking it down?

Ford s-max, might be a bit of a stretch for 14K, but will swallow a buggy whole.

An estate focus would be a cheaper alternative but you will have to break the buggy down.

I'm looking for something that will take a buggy broken down with some shopping etc.

Take a look at the Ford Focus C-Max and the Opel Zafira.

Check out some of the medium size family hatchbacks like a Focus or Octavia. Another one might be a Ford Mondeo hatchback as the boot is massive in them too. Most will take a buggy in the boot, imo I think MPVs might be a bit overkill in this instance.

Best thing to do though is visit a few garages and bring the buggy with you to make sure it fits.

Stretch the budget slightly and you'll get a brand new one of these.....
