Might be simple - a regas needed. Might need a hose/hoses renewing. Might be nasty too - compressor etc.

Get it checked by a specialist.

had the exact same problem with my car. most likely some of the gas has leaked out and the pressure has dropped. you can pick up a DIY topup can of it from halfords for about 70 euros. theres a safety switch in most cars now that wont allow the aircon compressor to turn on when the pressure is low so as to not damage itself.

Make sure the compressor is actually working. When cars warmed up hit the button and rev's should rise. If not it could be costly

the compressor wont turn on if the gas pressure is low. thats why theres a safety switch so it cant damage itself. chances are the compressor is fine and the gas leaked out slowly over the years through the compressor seals which happens to all of them.

    Hi
Same happened to my Picasso a few weeks back . Took it to a specialist
for a top up , turned out I have a leak somewhere . So got to leave it back in to be repaired first . They didn't charge to check it for leaks . Its €100 for the gas top up plus the cost of repairing the leak .

    Regards
