I have a 06 BMW 3 series that is overdue NCT and tyre change.

Looking for advice please on what i should do with the tyres (should i go with more runflats or go with normal tyres).

If i have to go with runflats does anyone know where to buy them at a reasonable price as last time they were changed it was scary the cost of them and i personally hate runflats but my wife wants to stick with them

What size are the wheels? I've driven the 3 series on 16"s and found the runflats fine (a bit firm, but still quite acceptable), on 18"s I found the ride quite unacceptable. I wouldn't underestimate the convenience of being able to continue driving on a puncture either, particularly for a driver who's not used to changing wheels. Last time I replaced a set of 16" it cost around €550 including a four wheel alignment.

I'm 99% sure there is no space for a spare in the E90 so if you ditch the Run Flats you'll need to keep a can of tyre weld in the car, and get a years breakdown assistance incase the tyre gets totally mangaled. You'll need recovering to a tyre centre if that happens.

Father in Law is considering the same thing when his tyres need replacing. E90 with standard suspension but 18"'s and it is pretty rough if you are on anything but billiard table smooth roads.

    Mine are 16".

    Wow €550 is brilliant!!!!!!!!

I last paid almost €900 in Tullamore. Can you say where you got it for €550?
