Spit roast pig

Planning on doing a spit roast pig at the start of august and was wondering has anybody successfully did one? (not getting in a company to do it, trying to do it all myself) Looking for heights above the coals and revs per min of the pig etc. any tips on where to get guidance would be mucho appreciated!
