Paul Williams moving back down to Welterweight, looking for bigger fights.

I read online he is moving back down in weight because he can't get big money fights at 154.
That pretty much throws a rematch with Martinez out the window unforunately.
I think he should of never moved up in weight in the first place,
He gave the likes of Mayweather and Cotto an excuse not to fight him that way, Plus the 154 divison aint exactly great either.

I don't think he will get a fight with either Mayweather or Pacquiao, nor will Cotto dream of going near him, I think he beats both Berto and Mosley which are more likely oppoenents for him at 147.
I think Shane would be up for fighting him, Shane is on his way out and will prob fight anyone at this stage but I can see Berto tryna duck a showdown with Williams.

So again is there that many people at 147 for Williams to fight?
Is it worth coming down to, I personally would like to see him move in weight, I don't think coming down 147 makes sense.

I think he needs to plant himself in the one division and pick up a few belts, that way people will have to face him because he will be seen as the man at the weight. Pac, Mayweather and Mosely are on the way out really, probably one or two more payday fights and that'll be it, so 147 is probably a good shout, plus Cotto and Margarito are now campaigning at 154. Basically he is a dangerous fighter that no one wants to fight so he has to some how make a "name" for himself. Look at Mayweather, if he didnt bring the money to the table no one would fight him, but because he has the name and people genuinely view him as number one he has guys lining up. I think Williams needs to be in the position where other fighters look at him as the cash cow and will make way more money fighting him than anyone else.

Neither Mayweather nor Pac will go anywhere near Williams. Cotto is the only one who might have the balls to fight him and I still don't expect him to either.

It's bull****. Shows what is wrong with boxing, you have two boxers who are said to be the best in welters in the world yet neither will go near Williams because he is "too big" and "not a draw".

Imagine nobody would fight Ali (not saying Williams is anywhere near his level btw) for the same reasons and his career was left to fizzle into obscurity because no p4p champions would fight him and he was left fighting B-level fighters for his career.

I'd have to agree with some of the posters above, I don't think Williams will get the big fights at welterweight. He poses too big a risk for poor financial returns.

I think he should concentrate on the middleweight division. Set about winning a world title there and then concentrate on unifying the division. Also give his body time to adapt into that of a genuine middleweight.

This business of going up and down weight is not good for him long term but that goes without saying.

If he was to become a force at middleweight then maybe....just maybe he could tempt Mayweather to step up while he steps down to fight him at 154llbs before PBF calls it a day. This depends on if hes a big bucks draw by then.

I honestly can't see him giving Mayweather problems, I think he has too many flaws and would get a boxing lesson. If the fans wanted the fight badly enough though the money would be there
