Anyone know what the story is with this? When i'm leaving for work at about 6.30am every day for the last two weeks there has been a massive garda presence, 10-15 of them. The area from the junction with northumberland road down to the raglan road turnoff on pembroke road is blocked off with barriers. By the time i'm home at 5.30, not a trace of them, maybe one guard in the embassy grounds.
Pretty strange,as there hasn't been sight nor sound of any protesters for well over a week. Its pretty annoying as the 18 bus is diverted round the blockade.

I would imagine it is so the embassy staff and ambassador can get in without any hassle from potential protesters.

I work down that way, have to listen to the protestors - 18 is going down MoreHampton Road to donnybrook after turning off Appian Way as far as I know as I jump off and walk down Waterloo.

When the blockage is in place the 18 coming from Sandyford will carry on down Northumberland Road, turn onto Haddington Road and then go up to Baggot Street Upper and onto Waterloo Road. Don't know what way that will work in reverse, maybe onto Burlington Road and out onto Mespil Road?
