I thought it'd be nice to have a thread where readers of the BWE (and yes we know there are quite a few of you) could express your thoughts on the shows, storylines, what we've done well, what we could've done better etc.

We can also use this thread as a Q & A section where writers can be asked about why they chose to book a certain angle.

    The floor is open :)

We tried 1 of these feedback threads before and, tbh, it wasn't successful.

We're past the 200,000 views mark in the shows thread so there's definetly people Reading. What do ye want to see from the BWE??

As always, new bookers are welcome. Becoming a booker gives you entry into the top secret BWE group (pending my approval)

Effectively a fan fiction thing we have going. We write the storylines.

I too am shocked but believe it to be a work. We can rule out the aul Ganja as thats just a fine so it might be a prescription error ala Mysterio.

BWE is an integral part of this forum now, the stature of the thread and the sheer amount of views says that on its' own and this is arguably the biggest angle we've ever done. An extra thread about it here or there wont harm anybody.

Lads I too got caught by this and I'm a huge fan of the BWE but I think it went a little far. The plugs here and there are nice to see but posting this is a bit of a joke. Bringing a bit of forum fun here and there is great to see and I know the majority of people here are BWE fans but there are a lot of lurkers and rare visitors that will believe this and it doesn't paint a great picture of the forum to them.
    Just my 2c.

    edit:
p.s Finished the leaving so might try my hand at a write up or two. if thats ok

The only people interested will be posting in the BWE thread, though. Surely it's just spam, otherwise?

I haven't posted in the PW forum in a fair while, but I take a look fairly often to see what's going on. I hope this kinda thing doesn't become the norm. It's annoying.

Why not make a seperate BWE sub-forum and leave the PW forum for real-life news and events? Can see this kinda thing being a big turn off for a lot of people.

Firstly, welcome, you should post here more often :)

Secondly, we tried getting a sub-forum a while back but settled on a Social Group.

Lastly, we wouldn't dream of overcrowding the forum with BWE threads, we're above that but the odd one here and there with the aim of getting some more readers isn't detrimental to the forum at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭waltersobchak

Honestly i pretty shocked people are reacting so OTT to something that is only meant to be a bit of fun.. And to promote what we think is a great angle.. Seriously lads..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Era, All it is is a bit of fun.

KKV, I think this is prob the 1st ever BWE thread on a storyline we have so I wouldn't say it's spam. It's more shock value on our storyline part. Yes, we plug the BWE at lot (sometimes too much) but I'd say without these plugs, we'd have nowhere near the amount of views we have ATM. Maybe this thread needed something to do with the BWE in the heading/title but for anyone who sees it will see a BWE link in the first post.

To say we need a sub-forum isn't really nessessary IMO. We have our shows thread, our discussion thread, a feedback thread and a private, writers only group for our storylines. I don't 3 threads are spamming the forum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Lads its only a bit of fun, everyone who read the thread copped on very quickly that it wasn't real.

My first post on Boards was here. :)

My interest in WWE has sagged lately, so I haven't been as active on this forum as before.

To be honest, I'm probably a minority, but I know a forum I used to visit frequently started doing their own online-fed and started posting their topics in the 'real' news forum. The forum was pretty good (though mostly I used it for it's media content) but the postings of their E-Fed stuff made it very frustrating to read the threads.

They eventually turned to starting every thread E-Fed related with a prefix of the fed name. Eg; "BWE: CM Punk Fails Wellness Test".

I understand you're trying to reach out to more readers, but chances are people will just dismiss the news once they realise it's not authentic, or, like with the other forum I used to frequent, just stop reading it.

Considering this is essentially the biggest forum in Ireland, and this board, I'd imagine is the biggest PW forum in Ireland, I'm sure people looking for the fed will find it.

Again, that's just my own opinion on it. I'm sure some people think its a great thread and maybe you have gotten a few more BWE readers. Can only speak for myself (and apologies if my prior post seemed harsh :o )

I don't post too much here and I think BWE is a bit of a laugh for the contributors but at the end of the day some people posting or visiting here don't particularly care about it!. It's built up a bit much, it's really just a few coming up with their own storylines. No harm to anyone involved but I don't have a huge amount of interest in it and just come on here to read (mainly) and post ( now and then) about current actual events. Posting storylines as a thread is a bit much IMO. But as I said keep on keeping on in the right place!

At the end of the day your entitled to your opinion but we hardly clog the place up with our stuff, we have a Sticky and a Discussion thread thats it.. one thread to promote a storyline is hardly overkill..

But it is not an angle. An angle is something that a wrestling company does in an effort to make money. This is just posting something false in the hope of attracting a few more people to view a thread on an anonymous internet forum. Plus an angle has some sort of payoff other than "ha, ha we fooled you."

I used to post here more but like KKV, I lost a good bit of interest in WWE. Now I only really click on threads that I see on the front page when something looks interesting or newsworthy. But if this becomes a trend there will be no point doing that as it will probably be just a rather sad attempt at a work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,881 ✭✭✭Pentecost

But ye're promoting it just for a bit of satisfaction that ye have come up with an interesting storyline. Just my opinion like and I do read BWE now and again, maybe ye should be a developmental territory for WWE writers!!

Tbh, it's not even for satisfaction. We put up a fedback thread on the BWE to see what are poples opinions on it and got little or no feedback. To us, the writers, that put us in a grey area. We don't know who our audience is (is it people coming across Pw not logged in or is it users who just read it) and what the feedback on our storylines are. I think his thread has def got more of a reaction on the BWE than any of our fedback threads and that's only on 1 storyline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,881 ✭✭✭Pentecost

Fair enough points D2D and I don't want to discourage ye. I suppose I should view it as just a work of fiction and either read it or don't!. In terms of your audience I'd imagine it's a mixture of everything. There'll be regular posters who enjoy it, there'll be occasional posters that don't really know what's going on, there'll be those who click by mistake. Not sure how you'll differentiate between them.

Lads it's just a bit of harmless fun. If you can't see the funny side to it then you need to develop a sense of humour I'm afraid.

The angle looks really good lads. Can't wait to read about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,984 ✭✭✭Degag

    My 2 cents.

All the plugs in threads are beginning to annoy me too. Have nothing against the BWE, just the way i feel.

    /2 cents.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Im a mod and i came up with the BWE... This is a one off thread, the BWE has been going for 3/4 of a year now and there has been no such thread and tbh there was not this reaction to the rake of april fools jokes etc so i do think a lil bit of leeway needs to be given. This may be a lil bit of a reaction to the sheer volume of plugs though and i do think and would suggest to the others if they werent going to read this anyway that we tone them down a bit. sure they are a little less needed now that some of the writers made BWE sigs. Its the biggest storyline the BWE has done most likely so as said a 3rd thread in a once off situation is not really overkill, or atleast it wasnt in my opinion and thats why when i saw that Walter had put the name BWE in the OP i went with it instead of stopping it.

even if you were annoyed by this thread in some form i hope you can have the same opinion os Glenjamin below especially if like a few of you have said you read the BWE.
    glenjamin wrote: »

One thing that should be noted is that we have often tried to get feedback but have gotten very very little response and no negative feedback as has been mentioned here, if we did we most likely would have altered our approach. If you do ever have an isssue with the BWE please either bump that thread or PM me your BWE mod.

New writers always welcome, apply in the BWE discussion thread.

    locking this thread now.

edit: may merge it with the Feedback thread later and atleast the locking for now makes it look like the non BWE CM Punk wellness failure is not to believed to casual viewers of the forum.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

okay, i merged them so anyone have anything else to suggest, obviously toning down our foley-esque plugs is something we might do after some of the above comments, but im glad to actually read you guys posting that you read the BWE as we obviously know people do from the amount of views but rarely get any feedback.

and as said we always welcome new writers.

Now off to write another BWE Raw
