theres usually a very small button, underneath the pad to turn it on,off ,if your stuck a 7euro usb mouse will work fine, from pcworld, maplins any pc shop.Windows will install it automatically after 2mins, eg usb mouse detected, installed, ready to use.Just plug it in to a usb port.
on the hp hewlett packard laptop
pad light goes red, blue as you turn on ,off the mousepad.
button may be at the side, or at the front of the laptop.
post model no here ,eg sony lx540x. the button is very small .
or try rebbot pc, holdown f8, safe mode , udse arrow keys,up,down, enter select safe mode.
i find it easier to use an external mouse anyway.
