    3 bets for me:

    1-1 (15/2)
    HT/FT Germany/Draw (20/1)
    2nd Half Result: Australia (5/1)

    All small stakes (€10 win)

    Best of luck

    Australia draw no bet 4/1

Emerton to score anytime @ 10/1.

It seems him and Cahill share most of the goals for them

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,242 ✭✭✭In_tuition

Yep thought about Cahill anytime at around 4's but can't see many goals in this one so opting out

If it turns out to be a 3-2 affair I'll pull my hair out!

Scheinsteiger anytime is 9/2 for Germany. Might be worth a small dabble.

I don't know but I wouldn't pay much attention tbh, every free I've seen has gone flying over the bar.

Also went with Australia 4/1 dnb. Tempted to go with over 3.5 goals, 7 games in to the tournament and all under 2.5, due a few goals tonight me thinks hopes :P

Germany to win and Podolski to score anytime @ 21/10
    Germany (-1.0) @ 17/10

Paddypower have Piotr Trochowski at 50/1 for man of the match. If he starts, that's a serious value bet for a small stake.

can anyone find Germany clean sheet anywhere other than BF ?

Germany clean sheet 1/1 for a profitable day, and to get some of my england money back

seems fairly tough to score with cautious games and the new ball, and zee germanz are notoriously stingy having only conceded 5 goals in qualies

no gimme by any means as the socceroos will most likely play with the same freedom as south korea having nothing to lose

    One Time!!

l've gone with the h/cap draw at 9/4.

im relying on this to win as
the credit union refused my loan they said they dont give out loans for gambling on the world cup.:(

so -1 in normal bookies is the same as -1.5 in the asian is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 293 ✭✭Amigomenor

Schweinstiger and Podolski to both score. This will be 3 or 4 nil to Germany. Australia dont concede many but they will tonight, Germany are relentless!

I don't think so, AFAIK if Germany win by one goal and you have them backed at -1, you get your money back, you don't win

fancy germany big time myself to win 2/3 nil

torn between germany to win both halves at 10/3
    or halftime fulltime

went for germany halftime fulltime at 7/5

hmmm so what are they to win by 2 on Betfair and what handicap is that, i dont understand these asian handicaps at all, there 13/8 on PP but my a/c is empty.

10/11 with PP, it's down as Australia to score no goals

If they win by 2 and you have them backed at -1, then you win the bet

The easiest way to think of handicaps is just to take them away (or add them on depending on who you're backing) from the actual score and see what you're left with.

For example if I backed Germany to win with a -1 and they won 3-1. Subtract the handicap from Germany's score and they still win 2-1, meaning you win the bet

If they won 2-1, subtract the handicap from their score, and the result is 1-1, meaning you get your money back.

And if it ends 0-0, Germany are left on -1 while Australia are on 0, so the Ozzie's 'win' the match and you lost the bet.

ya i understand that but its the -1.5 and so on i dont get.

Okay, if Germany won 3-1: Subtract the handicap, leaving Germany with 1.5 to Australia's 1, meaning Germany still win the match and you win the bet

If they win by 1-0, subtract the handicap and they're left with -0.5 to Australia's 0, so again Australia 'win' the match and your bet loses.

Basically if you back someone with a -1.5 handicap, they have to win by 2 goals or more for your bet to win.

And on the flip side of the coin if you back someone with a +1.5 handicap, they have to win, draw, or lose by no more than one goal for your bet to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭Kod-box

right i get ya now, thats what i thought but on Betfair they have Germany -1 @ 2.11 and Germany -1.5 @ 2.88, thats what has me confused.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

    I've gone with the following:
Australia 1-0 half time, Germany 2-1 full time (35/1 Bet365)
Podolski to score anytime and Germany to win 2-1 (14/1 Bet365)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

Betfair don't do handicap draws unlike the bookies. So you can go with the asian handicap (-1.5) where you either win/lose or the normal handicap (-1) where if the result is a draw (after you take the handicap into account) you get refunded your stake.

With the likes of paddy poiwer there is a handicap draw outcome so if you backed Germany -1 and they won 2-1 you'd lose your bet. Those who backed the -1 Handicap Draw would be winners.

Ugh, I'm starting to confuse myself now.

But PP also offer an Asian Handicap -1 (as well as a handicap -1) so it does get confusing! If I understand correctly, in the former if it is a draw (when the handicap is taken into account) you get your stake back, but in the latter if it is a draw, you don't as it's a handicap draw which is a sepaarte betting option.

Anyway having a fiver of Germany to win to nil tonight.
