Can somebody explain to me how these tickets work? I can't find them on the website but at Hazelhatch station I was quoted something like 20euro for a 7 day return ticket from Hazelhatch-Heuston with the bus added on.

I presume these are the tickets that go in the validating machine underneath the smartcard reader on the bus? Do I have to have used the train that day to use the bus add on- I'll be commuting via bus and rail for 5 days out of the week but if I could use if just for the bus on weekends that would be handy.

Any advice would be great, cheers.

Sounds quite sweet...However....make absolutely certain that the ticket clerk issues you with the correct Dublin Bus add-on.

In my experience the standard Railway Station issue is for the Dublin Bus route 90/92 ONLY....In other words getting you from Heuston to O Connell Bridge ONLY.

The best way to ensure this is to check the printing on the ticket you are issued with......If it sez Route 90/92 ONLY then it means it`s ONLY valid on the 90/92 To the City Centre.

These tickets are only valid on busses between Heuston and the city centre, not the whole Dublin Bus network.

A 7 day short hop Bus and Rail ticket is €34.50.

Thanks for the replies. I get the 92 bus (and it actually goes to Wilson Terrace btw) anyhow so if it is the case that the ticket is only valid on that service then it won't be a bother.

Will go up to the station earlier in the morning anyway so I have time to double check.
