50% off many book titles in the reopened shop in Stephens Green
    http://irishpublishingnews.com/2010/05/31/hughes-hughes-st-stephens-green-is-now-open/

It's great to see it has reopened, I hate to lose bookshops. They are also starting up a bookclub, which looks interesting.

I couldn't find a website for the new store, but you can give your e-mail address to the staff and they will keep you updated. All the stock is new. I think a different company have taken over just this book shop but they seem to be trading under the Hughes and Hughes name.

It was posted in the Pigsback sticky:

This is kind of related to Pigsback - Hughes & Hughes is back open in Dundrum. I was in there today and the upstairs part is closed, but they are open downstairs with new book titles and all. Other stores opening soon - Santry, St Stephens Green etc.

So the part that relates to Pigsback is the vouchers we all got as part of our piggy points - I went in with some of my cards, and they will take them back and get you to fill in a form and will reissue new vouchers to you. So all is not lost. And it is good to see that they are open again.

Good luck with the vouchers! I just presumed as it was a different company that they wouldn't be obliged to honour them. So it's good news to hear that they will.

I'm just glad to see another bookshop in the city, hope they keep the prices low!

It's pretty much the same owners / company (in all but CRO reg. name!) as it's owned by Derek Hughes & some guys from Bus Stop newsagents iirc.

What a great system we have in this country whereby someone can just close up shop one day, shaft all their suppliers and open up again a few weeks later!!!

I wonder how long they'll last without their former Airport shops

Does anyone know if the new Yann Martel book, Beatrice and Virgil, is on offer at the moment?

    Thanks!

I don't know what price it was in Hughes & Hughes. It's awkward that they don't have a website yet at the Stephen's Green branch, maybe it's the same price as in other branches. I probably won't get a chance to get in there at the weekend. Maybe someone else can have a look?

Another cheap book shop I've found is the Book Station in Charlestown Shopping Centre, Finglas. They have new books at cheaper prices.

I had a look on Amazon for you and it's £7.49- worth doing a bulk order of over £25?

Easons have that book as part of their "Summer Reading 3 for 2" promotion at the moment, they also have a lot of newer books on special at the moment.
