Whats your reason for selling Donnacha?

You might see in the background of the picture that I bought a mahlkonig vario a couple of months back. Originally I'd planned to use the mahlkonig exclusively for filter, but my better half prefers using it to the rocky for espresso and the Rocky got relegated to doing the job of filter grinding for me. Its a much better machine than that and if someone wants it then I'll buy a Vario Maestro+ for filter only grinding.

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to coffee but I'd like to get a good home setup going. Currently I use a French press at work and a moka pot at home. I was considering buying an espresso machine for home but the advice I'm getting is to get a good grinder first. My question is would your Rocky be a good investment for both my current setup and potential future purchase! I have looked at a gaggia mdf as an option too.

Hi macgabhs - I'm not too familiar with the gaggia mdf but I'm fairly sure most of the members here will agree that the rancilio rocky is one of the best home grinders on the market. have a quick google and I'm sure you'll see many positive reviews.

The MDF won't grind fine enough for espresso by all accounts. The Rocky will do your job though.
