Trying to lose weight and tone up

    Well as the title states im trying to shed about a stone or two over the summer thats my main goal but also want to tone up a bit as well.

    Im male 6,2ft and 21 years old currently weighing 15s6lb. would like to get down to about 13s6lb near the end of august or earlier if possible.

    I was around the 13 and a half stone region after christmas but since then with holidays, eating junk food all week and alot of weekend takeways and drink the weight has piled on

    Right now im doing interval training on exercise bike i have at home 4-5 times a week which ive just started monday gone. I do 3 min's warmup, 40sec high intensity and 1:20secs rest and i repeat this 7 times and then a 3 min cooldown. Just wondering am I doing this the right way in terms of the amount of seconds of HI and Rest. Also ive heard this is the best way to lose weight will it continue being as beneficial doing it 4-5 times a week? or will my body get used to it.

    Going to go back to the gym next week and plan on doing at least 2 days a week on the weight machines to try tone up a bit as well as my 4-5 cardio HIIT sessions at home.

    Ive changed my diet alot since the start of the week.

    Right now ive kind of settled on this menu

    BREAKFAST:
    A Cereal such as cornflakes, Weetabix or ReadyBrek.
    or
    Scrambled Egg(2-3 eggs) with 2-3 slices of wholegrain bread with low fat butter
    or
    Omelette

    Not sure if there is a problem having loads of eggs a week?

    Lunch:
    Soup
    or
    Banana or Apple
    or
    Baked Beans and toasted wholegrain bread

    sometimes I may even skip lunch and have dinner about 4-5pm where my breakfast would be at 12pm

    Dinner:
    Mash or boiled potatoes with carrots and peas and either a piece of chicken or fish (not the processed kind.)
    or
    Chicken stirfry
    or
    Lasagne piece about 4"x7" big and 3 boiled potatoes.

    All ive drank this week is water and have about 8 pints or more a day.



    When it comes to the weekends out however instead of just stopping going out which I dont think I would be able to manage I was thinking of changing my drink to coors light or vodka and diet mix instead of the usual budweiser. Maybe have a curry takeaway the next day. I know this isnt helping but I think ill need it as my only treat during the week to keep me going.


    Just looking for any advice on my diet and any changes that would need to be taken care of.

    And also any advice on the exercise I should be doing if the HIIT isnt the right way to go, and other advice that would help me.
