I pulled over to take a phone call today. When I started up again my speedo and fuel consumption gauges were no longer working. Rev counter is working, as is the odometer and range of vehicle bases on on board fuel and current speed/revs. There are no warning lights on dash or message from the on board computer. Perhaps it's a cluster problem. Can anyone shed any light?

Rear wheel speed sensor is offline. Corroded, disconnected...
I can never remember if it is the right or the left one that records the speed.
A quick diagnostic will tell which one is offline.
Cost about 120 for a new sensor (If required).

Thats strange its not the fuse as some of them are working.
They all work on the one fuse.

Nothing strange mate, that's the way they behave on BMW when they go off.
A bit of corrosion, dust, water on the sensor will have the same effect.
The sensor might be ok and just have had a hick up because of elements.
