So.. I'm in a bit of a bind here,
My mother who is disabled and in receipt of payments is having financial issues, many of which I'm fairly sure are to do with her incorrectly managing her various benefits etc (Such as discounts on bills and so on) The problem is she is both unwilling to let me help and argumentative when I offer to help her go over these things.

Is their any way that I can work with the local authorities to sort out her situation that will not overly stress her out ?

Unfortunately not however you may want to try MABS but that does require her agreeing to help and being honest and open about her financial situation
You could go to your local community welfare officer and see if they can put you in touch with anyone as she is disabled she is probably afraid to let control go as im sure that is one of the only aspects of her life that is her business and her's along
you can also try MABS however you do need her approval for this one as she needs to be honest and frank about her financial situation
best of luck with it all :)
