    Goody goody goody gumdrops!

So the first was utterly brilliant in my opinion, I played through it loads of times on the PS2, I never played the second but I've heard opinions that amount to 'Meh'.

So this one? Well no gameplay or in-game screens have been released, so it's anyone's guess. But from what I can tell of the trailer above it seems like a prequel (The main character has cybernetic arms instead of nanite enhancement. At the time of the first Deus Ex cybernetic augmentation was considered obsolete) and it seems to be using building the same sort of dissolving society, paranoia theme that the first went for.

So if it keeps on that track it could be brilliant. Anyway until a reviewer flatly tells me it's another 'meh' game...

    Giggidty-giggity-giggity!! :D

Deus Ex is still my favourite game of all time.
I think no matter what the devs do they won't match it.
As long as it's better than the bastard sequel I suppose I won't mind.

Sadly I share your view. It's insane that it hasn't been matched or bettered in 9 years.

After hearing all the hype about Deus Ex 1, I recently got it for PC. I played the tutorial which I enjoyed but didn't like the stealth parts, I was using a laptop, no mouse so controls were very iffy.

Anyway, are the missions brilliant? I just want to make sure the game has aged okay before I start dedicating a lot of time to it as it doesn't look like it has aged well.

    Has the game aged OK?

This game is like a 1967 mustang. No new car will ever be as cool as a 67 mustang.

No new game will ever be as good as deus ex.

    Wow bold statement :D

I might actually have to put some time into this for the Mustang line alone (Saw a new Mustang in town the other day, was cool an all but it shouldn't even share the same name as the 67!)

Trailer seems unusually well directed for a games trailer, although I refuse to comment until I see some gameplay.

Deus Ex is a masterpiece, perhaps as good a hybrid of RPG and FPS as you are ever going to get (eat that, Fallout 3 ;)). Fun story, great mechanics, just generally fantastic. Hopefully they shall not mess it up, although going by what I've heard about part 2 (which I haven't played, because it sounds like a significant disappointment) it's a distinct possibility.

    I just jizzed my pants.

I played DE 1 like over 10 times. Best FPS ever.

Each time you play it .... you can just change the way you play completely !

Way ahead of its time so it was !
