They're the most ungainly fogs I've ever seen and the car ain't that nice... but that engine bay is lovely. Do I see a carbon fibre intake box?

Nice car, pity about the completely out of proportion spotlights. WTF??!

First thing i'd do is get rid of em.

    Apart from that...luvly jubbly.:)

Yea, I'd prob get rid of the spots aswell.. But they do add to that retro rally look.

I showed my housemate it saying if I won the lotto, that'd be one of the first cars I'd buy along with the mk2 below..

That was the same style that the Works Manta 400 Rally cars had their spot lights (even though they had recesses in the front bumper for them).

Most Works Rally Cars had the same arrangement of front spotlights, even if that Manta seems to be missing the Swedish tweak of having them toe'ed in or out (for oversteer when cornering)

Edit - The spots seem ot be Cibe Oscars, the correct ones would be Lucas 20-20's as the Lucas were the works ones (and I've a set at home as well, with covers)

While I'm impressed with the work and finish of the car, I'd perfer Webers on such an old engine, especially for the sound.

There is an RS1800 road car for sale in the Motorsport News for £32.5K. They don't come up for sale that often as there was only 109 (IIRC) of them built

Yeah i know that was the look of the rally version back in the day, i get what your saying but i don't think the spots suit the over-all slick image of the car especially the grey paintwork.

The white ford escort in Ads by google's post really does suit the spots because of the colour scheme, theres a distint rally theme. IMO.
