Browne is STREETS ahead of PrimeTime

He asked Pat Carey a question, Carey avoided it, and Browne said "Do I need to ask again ?"

Pity Cowen doesn't have the balls to face Browne!

"Tough decisions made since Brian Cowen became Taoiseach...."

Complete and blatant avoidance of discussing Cowen's tenure as Minister for Finance.

Like him or dislike him, he asks the tough questions and demands answers

"If Cowen is so bad, why are we now on a path to recovery ?" says Carey

Fair play to Browne, he asked the obvious question - "But why did we need a path to recovery ?"

RTE should watch this to see how it's done!

Brownes paymasters dont have to go cap in hand to Cowen and Co for licence increases etc. Thats the biggest problem with RTE

Begg and O Conner are not any kind of socialists, champagne or otherwise. Connolly and Larkin spin in their graves everytime these clowns talk about fairness and equality

Browne would also give Tubridy a lesson in how to be even-handed; he didn't pull any punches when talking to Bruton (even though Bruton had more credibility and a less objectionable stance to defend).

Top class! Well done Mr Browne!

    Nope.

O Connor almost walked out a week or two ago over Browne's questioning - the only thing that stopped him was he couldn't get his mic off without looking even more stupid.

Of course he does, but he still does'nt get the answers, and that's the point I'd make. No matter how incisive or confrontational these presenters are politicians still waffle on and on. The only answer imo is to cut them off and ask them to leave if they wont answer the question, and untill this happens they will always behave as they do.
In all fairness VB is probably the best we've got.

I watch Vincent pretty much every night, if only to flick in and out, and he has 3 default modes -1. hail fellow well met laughing with the boyos, 2. Mock bewildered and confused, 3. attack dog barrister going for the jugular out of nowhere.

I would prefer if he sort of found a level and remained on it. With those he is well disposed towards, he can display all three modes within a minute, and that makes me question his sincerity. How strongly can you feel about anything if you can laugh, gurn and scowl within the space of a heartbeat- bit like a 3 flavour milkshake machine. I like watching him by the way, but find him a bit of a cold calculating fish.
