Performance difference between different models query

I want to purchase a new laptop and recently decided to go for the Samsung R580. However, after reading some internet reviews I decided to go a step further and go for the R780 model. On laptopsdirect.ie they have the R780 for sale and there are two possible spec's for it.

My question is what has the second version got that makes it so much more expensive (really appreciate if someone could explain this in layman's terms as much as is possible!) than the first? Also, is 900/1120 on laptopsdirect a decent price for this laptop? I liked the reviews of the R780 on cnet and some other sites but maybe I'm being overpriced by buying it in Ireland? Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

I'd go for the cheaper option. You're paying a lot for not much gain with the more expensive one.

Use another site to verify the specs (eg Amazon) if you're not sure about them. Laptopdirect looks to be wrong on some areas.

From what I can see, the more expensive one has i5-520M, Nvidia GT330M, 640GB HDD and Bluray drive.

The cheaper one has i5-430M, GT310M, 500GB HDD and DVD.
