jobseeker benefit and illness

    Im claiming jobseekers benefit for the last few months as my hours at work were reduced and im now classed as a casual worker. I fill in a weekly form and send it into my local dole office (normally i mark X for work and O for didnt work).

    I have been given a sick cert by my doctor for 1 week as i am unfit for work.

    my question is what do i mark on this form, as i have a claim form for illness benefit to also fill in. I have indicated on the illness claim form that i am claiming benefit and dont want to accidently mislead the dole office as i cant afford to lose my payments.

    Any comments are welcome

    Best thing to do is ring your local welfare office and ask them or even drop down to them
    From my experience you fill in illness form send it off and it comes through very quickly ie that week
    you come off JSA for the time your on illness benefit and once fit for work go back to welfare office and sign on again
    as for yellow certs mark as your not working but getting paid from illness benefit you dont hand any in
    please double check this with your local office its been a couple of years since i have done payroll but that how it worked when i did
