Thats a new one - was walking past Bachelors Walk yesterday and looked up as I usually do and noticed that one of the apartments there had tinfoil on the upper half of the window...window wasnt broken, so it got me thinking "wtf"??

Anyone got any outlandish theories as why someone would do this?

I presume its got something to do with reflecting the heat of the sun. Seems a strange one in Ireland though when we hardly see the bloody thing. You'd often see a car with something similar to tinfoil on the windscreen. Same purpose

There's an apartment on Thomas Street with the same thing.

Elvis used to do it, as a previous poster said, to deflect the sunlight, but a) that was in the states where the sun gets a lot stronger than here, and b) it was in the mid to late 70s when he was getting a bit eccentric..

Can't imagine why someone would want to do it here.. never heard of blackout blinds/curtains??

Black out blinds/curtians are more expensive then tinfoil.

Also less effective at blocking mind-control signals.

Actually, quite a few office buildings have some form of solar reflective glass as they tend to be creators of unwanted heat and can do without the solar gain you might want at home.

Could be to block the sun off the TV. At certain times of the day the screen can be very hard to see. Might be where the cable is and the only place to put the tv.

I am going with a model doing a nude shoot,so if the OP had hung around for a bit he may have got a sneaky peak.

Maybe its poorly applied window tint film?

not so much for heat but for reflecting light, You'll see it used in the Liberty Hall building aswell. :)

come on really? we all know its illegal but with 0 recorded deaths ever and the fact that as an adult we should be able to choose ourselves what we put into our bodies, just leave the man have his smoke

I think weed growers tend to be a bit more discrete.

I'd say it's a foreigner blocking the sun from over on the Southside.

sorry to be boring, but its a simple and cheap way to block out light and allow for sleep for those who work the hours everyone else uses for sleeping.
