ps3 and connecting to mobile internet on windows 7

hi, Ive been trying to get ps3 to work using internet (meteor mobile internet)thru a laptop with windows 7 on it.....
It works fine on laptops with windows vista and also XP but i just cant get it to work on newer laptop with windows 7 ??
Internet is set for sharing on it .. but all i get is IP address failed when i run ps3 internet connection tests ???
Ive googled for hours over past couple days and still no luck so any advice/ideas would be great thankyou

Your firewall could be the problem, turn it off and test again !

thankyou... tried connectivity site and it doesnt work for windows 7 starteredition which it seems i have :-(

Its more than likely your firewall,thats what was stopping from going online.

Not sure about mac, but if you have Windows 7 it should work. I use it with a dongle aswell so mobile broadband is no problem either.

i have same problem i have win 7 starter edition... firewall is turned off and still no ps3 internet:-(

Starter Edition doesnt even let you change your wallpaper so im guessing it wont let you do much else !
