Anyone else experieince a stinging sensation in their nipples after a workout, usually cardio (jogging) in my case. Quite sore, especially with my t-shirt rubbing against them. Still hurting a few hours after the exercise too. Any cures?!

Put some vaseline on them before exercising.
    Stops the chaffing.

    Hi There

Yep, commonly referred to as "Runners Nipple" :) It's not uncommon to see folks in a marathon with blood stains around the nipple area. Ooch

Are you wearing just plain old Cotton Tee Shirts or are you using a technical type running top/tee?

Cotton tee shirts are the worst offenders for this, though on long runs even when wearing a technical running top, you can still suffer.

You can use some of the following to help prevent this
    • Technical running tops - Lighter material, wicks the moisture away from skin.
    • Vaseline - A liberal smearing of vaseline on the nipples will help, but will stain your running tops
    • Bodyglide - A range of gels to help prevent chafing. May still stain tops. See http://www.bodyglide.com/
    • NipGuards - A gizmo that you put over your nipples. works well. See http://www.nipguards.com/
    • BandAid - The old reliable, but not so good for guys with hairy chests ;) also have a tendancy to fall off if you tend to sweat a lot.
    Hope that helps some.

    Best Regards,

    M

I don't 'do' running so I can't offer any constructive advice. I've just been sitting in front of the computer reading these posts with my hands wrapped firmly around myself and certain.. bits... thinking "ow ow ow ow ow".

This is not a pleasant thread to start my day with :(

I saw the thread title and laughed out loud. I don't know why, perhaps i take pleasure in other peoples suffering.

Why not stick on a couple of plasters before you go running?

If you don't, you'll end up putting them on after you've run! :p

    Try http://www.nipguards.com/

Could you not just amputate your nipples? They're useless anyway. That's what a REAL man would do.
