Couple of wknds ago you could have seen a merc doing donuts on bettystown beach. Then a scooby doing donuts around him. Then the merc leaving.

On a serious note, what do you drive? What tickles your fancy? On a good Saturday/Sunday evening there does be a nice few motors on dollymount and the likes. Not so much Dollymount since they put the big boulders down but still a few go down.

Dollymount can be good crack if you don't mind sand in your arches!

    Hey,

I drive mx-5, will check those locations. Do we have anything organized in Ireland like Autocross-x or time attacks events?

Good to hear that something is going on

No mentioning cruises please, they are essentially illegal street racing or a gathering of scobes with no real interest in cars.

Feel free to mention Meets, events etc..

And how can I find those? Is there some forum about it?

Meetings and so on - this is what I am looking for and what I meant by spots.

Spots where people meet talk, drive and so on.

    Thanks

Look for an Mx-5 owners club with an Irish section, join up there and they will probably have meets

First Sunday every month is the Octane meet in carrickmines retail park. It usually starts at 11.00. Some serious machines there.

Yer not serious!!! The carpark does be empty anyway! I was there on a glorious sunny day and there was only about 10 car outside of the meet in a car park that could fit hundreds

Yeh they had trouble with some other crowd in there some night so the management have decided to ban all car meets from there.

    http://www.octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=39631
Today we were informed that the Park Management no longer wish us to use the complex for our C&C. This was communicated to us shortly after we arrived, by two employees, under instruction of the Park Manager. They were pointed to me as the organiser, and requested we no longer meet there, and leave quickly or we risked clamping of our cars!
They also revealed that the problem has arisen because of meetings by other groups, the most recent two nights ago, when a group blocked the entrance and exit, and used the underground park area for drifting and donuts. Complaints have been lodged by the shop outlets, and to sum up, we are being lumped in with those groups!!

    underground park = Masonary columns

Add some stupid inexperienced drivers who think they can drive a 200hp+ car sideways equals=

Im not surprised it was banned

Octane.ie had nothing to do with any one drifting or doing donuts in the car park.

The members of Octane would not be anything like the idiots that blocked the entrance/exit and then acted like retards.

Banning an Octane meet which is simply a parking up of cars, a chat and then a pile of money being spent in Costa Coffee because of the actions of another group is pretty unfair in my opinion.

I have read many good posts about that meet, sounds great, hopefully you get the green light for your C&C meets again;)

Pity it was some Fcuking tossers that ruined it for you, come on, blocking the entrance for a private drift? Do they have a death wish?

And theres no way that sea salt or sand would corrode an engine, car under chassis, coilovers, brakes ar any parts like that.

Why do young lads in cars think its cool to act the plank in a car on a beach???

    They think they look cool.
