Anyone still holding out for a decent summer

I'm not. It just seems to get worse year after year. It's the 9th of June today and it could be the 9th of October.

I'm baffled why the countries original settlers actually, well settled here.

I can picture it now. Paddle paddle paddle, in their little canoes " Oh whats that on the horizon" paddle paddle paddle " Still can't make it out, It's covered in cloud and rain" paddle paddle paddle " and it's feckin freezing "

I know what i would have said " Fcuk this I'm off to Spain ":)

Yeah,it's fcukin freezing today. I'm going camping at the weekend,it better be at least dry. Hate waking up in a damp sleeping bag :mad:

You're right, it's actually chilly enough today to warrant switching on the heating, But, have we Irish become that soft? considering our history, should we really worry about the weather?

Not worried about it just a bit annoyed tonight. Would be nice to pop out to a beer garden with a few mates and chill outdoors for a change.

To be fair, there has been plenty of nice days so far this year. As soon as a bit of rain comes people just seem to forget what the weather was like a few days before hand.
Fact is I think no matter how many days of sun the Irish get we would still find a way to complain about it.

Jesus Christ, why do people complain about everything. We had about a month of epic weather, we have a few days of rain/cloud and everyones back to complaining!

I went away a few weeks ago, weekend of 21st May, and you all had 24c and sunny etc. That's the only really nice weather we've had, and I missed it. What f**king "epic" weather have we had? Maybe not the wettest but there hasn't been much sunshine or warm temps at all.

steady on, nice weekend forecast and back to low to mid twenties then next week...............when people will say its too hot.



ill take a bad day or 3 if it means a week of nice warm weather.

Why does a "good summer" have to involve sunshine?? As long as its not raining surfing in Ireland is always unbelievably good weekend. As long as its not raining for camping then you are sorted. Even if it is raining just stay in Hostel, B&B or Hotel and surfing in the rain is still great weekend.

I think we've had our summer TBH. Doesn't seem to be any decent weather on the way for the forseeable future.

Im looking forward to summer next year, even though that'll probably be rubbish.
Can't wait for summer 2012.
Nice early winter this year i'd say. Sure christmas is only round the corner.

I actually have specially tinted windows as to give the appearance that its a grey oul day outside no matter how sunny it might be. I also have a wind sounds CD on continous repeat 24hrs a day.
Thinking of buying an aircon unit as well to cool the place down a bit so i can flick on the 'fire'....which is a light bulb with a plastic cover molded & coloured to look like a coal fire.

Of course when winter does come round i'll complain vigorously about the cold. I hates the winter so i does.

The thing about Irish summers is that they usually happen in May, early June, late August & early September. That's when the weather is usually the best. June & July are generally a write off.

Only just out of my pool after a couple of hours splashing about. The Oh is off wit the kid for a few days, due back tomorrow so when I saw it was decent enough sun, feck all wind, I couldn't wait to get in
