Posted this on COD forum but for anyone who plays online PSN is going down for 12 hours maintenance and you won't be able to play online but according to PSN community leader if you logon to your psn account you will still be able to play online, found this on Info on AVforums.

If you can't log onto the PSN and you unlock a Trophy will this register on your PSN ID when the network is back up?

Yeah you just have to sync em up by either going into the trophies menu or clicking on your profile in the XMB.

There was no email, but don't you think it was a tiny bit lazy of you to not fully read the OP? Seriously. And where did I say "I told you so?"

I sat down. Wife and kids despatched. beer in hand to play MW2 for the evening and lo and behold I can't get online. Came on boards to find out whats going on. seeing red here so excuse me for getting shirty but allow me to be pissed off by the fact that playstation didn't tell its subscribers that it was shutting down today.........

Its Sony so I wouldn't expect an e-mail, remember how well we were informed and kept up to date with the whole clock setting leap year fiasco

    That was an unpredictable fault!

In no way related to Sony not bothering to inform people of downtime through official communication

Ok apart from all the pissy bickering between people, am I the only person who finds it a bit unfair that I can't play online because I had to work until after 4? Should it not just sign everybody out so that everybody gets screwed over together?

What about the people not working, we shouldn't be signed out just because there is maintenance being done.

That's a lovely attitude to have. Nice communal spirit there. Basically the "If I can't play, no one can," argument. A position that is the cornerstone of any 4 year old's argument.

I was logged in but multiplayer servers seem to be down anyway. At least Battlefield's were. You're not missing much. There was 1 person signed in on my friends list at 6:30. Then again I do only have 2 friends.

Ah no what I mean is, how come people are able to stay logged in to the psn but it's not possible to sign into it. That's what's annoying. I'm not saying "I don't want anybody to play just because I can't"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 355 ✭✭theShawzer

Just signed into the PSN again :), All is well

Did anyone else get the message "The Playstation(tm)Network is undergoing maintenance" when they started their PS3 yesterday. I had not noticed that before. Nice touch. Better than thinking there was an issue with my Internet connection.
