Does anyone know what kind of experience one needs to get a job in a bike shop, or is it just a matter of going in with a cv and giving it a go. Just trying to find something to do for the summer and this seems like the only thing i would enjoy. Any help or advice on getting a job in a bike shop would be much apreciated.
    thanks

Well its probably not what you were hoping for but I see halfords advertising for 'bike tec's' often enough. If you are starting at zero it maybe a good way to get to know the basics before working in a smaller shop where I'm guessing you'd have to know the difference between tools, parts and how to put the two together.

Outside of that, no reason its any different from other jobs, go in chat to the shop owner/ manager tell them you love bikes and would love to work in a bike shop, give them your CV and follow it up with a visit/phone call a week or so later. Best of luck!!
