Jeez, I get the 2 litre jar of milk in my local shop for 89c which is just a family run business.

OP means the shop is a few doors from Lidl, alright then. Still means I paid too much though .... fair play to the family stores who are offering this. I've none near me.

Seen a post there about American milk! dont mean to be a spoilsport but I would rather spend the few extra cent on Milk than have the market go the way of our vegetables!

Spanish Brocolli, Kenyan beans, leeks and italian potatoes

    Just my 2 cents

It was an observation on the spelling of litre, as opposed to the origin of the milk.

    Sarchasm anyone?

I didn't get the American reference either, I must be slow ... I was thinking that you meant that US dairy products aren't great, (sorry my American pals - you know its true!) The milk is cheap, so may be dodgy US import. :D

I also wouldn't mind spending a bit more on milk if the price was passed on to the farmers, it's sad that we pay more for a litre of water than a litre of milk. I'm not a farmer but I can see how much trouble the dairy farmers are in!

    Sorry to go OT.

I think getting 6 liters of milk for 3 euro instead of 4.50 is a big difference especially on the long distance and especially in this climate.
    But that is just me..;)

While milk is the topic i picked up voucher leaflets in Tesco Newbridge earlier for Avonmore Whole/Lowfat Super milk-E1.00 off 2ltr and E0.75 off 1ltr.
Very good if it`s your usual tipple :D.

Sarcasm. Not sarchasm. You shouldn't live in a glass house.

Sarchasm is an americanism itself. So you are using an americanism to descibe your witticism which is based on the fact that someone used an American spelling of the word litre.

    I kind of like it.
