Changing engine

I recently changed the engine in my Micra K10 with another engine (same type of engine, displacements, etc.). I assume I'm going to have to make it official with the tax office. How do I go about it? I should also note the car is currently off the road.

I did this about 15 years ago, so procedure may have changed. I had to get a letter from the garage that fitted the engine, stating the new engine no. The number was then manually entered on the tax book and the entry stamped.

You best bet might be to ring your local Motor Tax Office.....

its like every thing else a form that logs changes on the tax book , i wouldnt worry about the declaration about the car being off the road until it is ready for the road

Might ring them just to be sure.
