Hi Im just wondering what were the worst affected areas in Celbridge for flooding the last few years? Looking online, it seems that Vanessa Close/Lawns got flooded but am not sure if its on the willowbrook lawns side or not. Anyone remember?

All parts of Celbridge are prone to flloding .

    2009 : Oldtown road , Barberstown road , etc. http://http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2009/1130/breaking3.html

2008 : Vanessa Close, Sewage on Main Street. http://http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/0810/floods.html

Celbridge has been prone to flooding since as far back as 1779 three houses swept away, 1787, and in 1802 the bridge was swept away, 1954 Celbridge was impassable. http://http://www.leinsterleader.ie/Register.aspx?ReturnURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.leinsterleader.ie%2Fkild%2FNothing-New-Under-the-Sun.5896828.jp
There have been other instances of flooding down the years will post links later .
The flooding in north Kildare is set to get worse in the future. "In an interview with the Leinster Leader for this feature, Professor Sweeney warned that flooding will become both more common and more severe, and it's time that the local authorities started planning to cope with it." http://http://www.leinsterleader.ie/in-focus/Kildare-flooding-is-an-issue.5733555.jp

Hazel Hatch road is prone to flooding including the tennis club, GAA grounds, train station, and areas along the Dublin Road. I think that there is a river/ stream that flows from the train station area and makes its way to the river Liffey at Donaghcumper. Donaghcumper got its name from the meeting of the waters. Patches of the Demesne wall are almost always wet and parts of the Dublin road where these underground rivers flow flood when there is heavy rain. In recent years lands around Castletown are much wetter and at times you would need a canoe to get around. Areas around Scoil na Mainistreach have also problems and these residents use sand bags constantly when there is any threat of flooding. Will post images later.

Ardclough is absolutely brutal for flooding especially around Daingean's Corner and on the road before the Lishandra estate.

Been getting drain work and all that done for years but never seems to make a difference. Live on the road after Daingean's corner myself and the field across the road was like a lake for about 2 weeks after the flooding and our garden took about 10 days to drain off the last of the water.

I've never seen this, at least in the housing estates and local roads, even during the heavy flooding/bad weather. Ardclough was pretty bad alright.

Lived in Celbridge for 12 years and Hazelhatch is definitely prone to flooding. The GAA and tennis club flood almost every single year.
