ps3 has broken down

playing my ps3 this morning then it just switched it's self off now i have a flashing red light. Looked in the manual done what it said let it cool down.The vents all clear good ventilation but still red light it's the first gen ps3 any thoughts:(

Click search, and type in "Red flashing light" there are 100's of threads

Should get an answer somewhere
