About to go on JSB - Some Questions

Im being made redundant on the 30th of June. I qualify for JSB but have some questions.

    1. Do I have to wait 3 days before I can go to the social welfare office or should I go straight away?

    2. Once I submit the JSB form is that ''it'' in terms of attendance at the dole office and I come back and sign on once per month?

    3. All my bank statements and Revenue docs P60s etc have my home address on them but I have been living in rented accommodation registered with Revenue for the Tax Credits on rent for over 1 year. Should I get my address changed on bank statement or with the Revenue as I intend to stay at this address?

    4. When do I have to provide evidence that Im looking for other jobs?

    5. For the rent allowance do they just assess how much savings you have on a certain day or do they look go back through your statements?

    Thanks any advice appreciated

    Straight away.

You might have to call in again with your P45, proof address, etc.
    3. All my bank statements and Revenue docs P60s etc have my home address on them but I have been living in rented accommodation registered with Revenue for the Tax Credits on rent for over 1 year. Put the resident accommodation address on the claim and bring in written proof of this address.
    4. When do I have to provide evidence that Im looking for other jobs?
Chances are you won't as they aren't any. They wouldn't expect you to have looked for work straight away.
    5. For the rent allowance do they just assess how much savings you have on a certain day or do they look go back through your statements?
    No idea.

With regard to question 5, the Community Welfare Officer would usually ask to see your bank statements etc., for the last 6 months.
