Regarding English and Irish...

    OK, here's the deal.
In the mocks I got >80% in all subjects except English and Irish. For English, I'm totally confident for paper 1. What I'm wondering is if I should throw some originality into paper 2 and do Ozymandias by Percy B. Shellely for my studied poem. It's not covered in class, it's not covered in any of my books but it IS incredibly useful, and as barely any students would answer on it I'd be likely to pick up more marks than on a more frequently answered poem (Mid-Term Break, anyone?). I don't have time to study a new drama or novel, but a change in direction for the poem section might give me a useful edge in the exam.

But this is the key part.
In Irish Paper 2, fifty marks are going for Ceapadóireactht. Our school has been focusing part B (Sceal\Eachtra) constantly. We've been taught to use a very specific format, very specific phrases etc. It seems like I've no room for expression as every single school in Ireland will have a story in which "Chonaic me na lasracha san fhuinneog agus rith me ar nós na goithe go dtí an doras! Bhí an ngealach ag taitneamh go hard san spéir" is the same thing the examiner will see all the time... What I'm wondering is should I spend my last study time in Irish learning to answer part C (Diaspóireacht) instead... I'm fairly good at spoken Irish and English speechwriting. I have notes on Diaspóireacht from when I went to IC in Knockadoon last year (very reccomended btw), so if I learn the format I just might be able to push it out better than what we've focused on. At the very least, have it as a backup (I finished Paper 1 very quickly during the mocks so I might be able to answer two questions)

In other words, do I choose to disregard advice given to me and try to learn completely new material directly in front of the exams?

English: You could answer on it, but you wouldn't gain any marks for doing it on an unusual poem.

Irish: I wouldn't recommend trying to learn a new question on the day of the exam, once again, you're not given more marks for answering on an unpopular question.
