I decided that im going to start doing more excerise. I bought a mountain bike today. Im fairly unfit at the moment and would like to get into better shape.

Im going to improve my diet as a first.

What kind of miles or time spent cycling would i need to be doing per week to lose a bit of weight and get fitter?

Anyone know of a cheap-ass cycle computer as well? I'm in a similar boat

I've sworn off eBay/Paypal myself for life, although the dealer seems reputable enough.

Anyone know of one cheapish around Dublin?

If you're just starting then ever mile you cycle that you didn't cycle last week is an improvement in fitness that will help shift fat.

Yes defo, i was thinking that i could do an hour cycling maybe 3 times a week.
That would be half hour each time on roads and half hour up hills in a forrest track. Would this be a good start?

The ones in ALdi/Lidle are spot on. The Cateye ones are all good and cheap at under 30 euro

Online auction sites in general, I just hate them having used them for years. Plus eBay/PayPal just don't give a **** if something goes wrong, regardless of what their policy says.

I have used ebay and paypal as a buyer and seller for almost 5 years and have never lost 1 cent due to something going wrong. I have almost 400 feedbacks.

Plus completely off topic, please dont post unless you have something worthwhile to say.

Good for you, continue using it so. Doesn't make my experience, or thousands upon thousands of other people who were shafted by eBay or Paypal any less relevant.

Someone asked me so I replied - you might heed your own advice there to be fair.

I'm guessing that they're only around on special offer like twice a year, as with their other electronic goods?

    Have a look in Argos:

    Argos

They start at €15 and get the job done. I got a wireless one there last year and its perfect. I don't think they stock my particular one anymore though.
