He lads and lassies, just looking for a bit of advice for people in the know,

I currently have a trek 4300 mountain bike and am thinking of upgrading to either of the bikes mentioned in the title,

I would mainly use it to go to work (which is a 3 mile journey with a few cycle paths consisitng of hills) and other short journeys i never had a road bike before,

I'm 23 and have been cycling for 15 years

    Thanks in advance

If the bike is just for commuting and short journeys, I think the Hybrid would be better for you. You'll have a more upright riding position, better for cycling in traffic and wider tires than a road bike, so more comfortable on rough bike paths. The hybrid would also be suitable for going for longer leisure spins, I'm sure there'll be more than a few on the Wicklow 200 next Sunday.

cheers i think ill get the hybrid, the tyres r alot skinnier than other hybrids so its not too far off a road bike

I have the 7.5, great bike for commuting and I've used it for the occasional multi sport race. It's more of a flat bared road bike than a traditional hybrid, fairly light too.

If your only using it for a 3 mile commute is there a need?:D
