Nah i'm good untill 2013, but i'd like to know what can be used as a taxi, as the Taxi Regulators spec list isnt finished (there's still alot of blank spaces)

But mite aswell see what else can be used under the rules.

Afaik its 1030mm across the back seats and 420 litres of bootspace is the min.

    Parkers give boot volumes.
They give exterior dimensions too so I'd say you could get a good guesstimate from that.

Sick of the Avensis already? If so, I don't blame you. Useless piece of manual crap ;)

It seems your biggest problem is finding rear shoulder room . Car manufacturers don't list it in their specs, so I suppose the taxi regulator is measuring it (or just emailing the car importers and waiting for a reply).

    Just get a Superb!

I'd say that exceeds all required measurements, by quite a margin.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread here guys, but I see we have to have a 2kg powder fire extinguisher (EN3 marked) for the new SGS suitability test.. Would 2 x 1kg extinguishers do?? I'm only asking as I have 2 x 1kg extinguishers already and don't want to buy another 2kg one.. Thanks..

    Simple answer is No.
It's on the regulator's site somewhere that you cannot have two seperate 1kg extinguishers.

PS. Found it; scroll down to page 18.

Good man.. Thanks very much.. Typical in Ireland that 2 x 1kg is not the same as 2kg, but, you can have a single 10kg one, no problem.. I fail to see the problem with 2 x 1kg..
