Once again I'm back to question what the law really is.Is it there to protect or be a smokescreen?I would have thought any right minded person would regard plying a vulnerable 12 year old girl with alcohol and then sexually assaulting her would be regarded as requiring a custodial sentence be imposed. It appears the mature male adult in question had been on a binge for quite a number of days.Is that a defence? He had never been in trouble before. Is that a defence? When I read where a person cannot pay a fine for what could be regarded as a trivial offence is jailed while a child being assaulted gets a suspended sentence,I get really angry and say once again,THE LAW IS AN ASS.
