I have seen the blogger Kellie Turtle quoted by the Irish Times and Irish Independent.

With a name like that she has to be a cartoon and younger sister the the Ninja Mutant Hero Turtles.

She turns up in articles on pole dancing and Hunky Dory's and all she is is a blogging student with IMHO some half baked ideas and unoriginal soundbites and non sequiturs on how men do this and that.

Kellie Turtle, editor of the soisaystoher blog, who is studying for an MA in Gender and Society at Queen's University, Belfast, described the advertisements as degrading to women.
"We are living in a society that is trying to promote gender equality and these sort of sexist images encourage people to view women as a sum of their body parts," she said.
"Women deserve to be treated with respect and the international obligations to portray women in the media are not being met."

Its all very well to quote a student blogger - but to give one credibility is like citing After Hours as a a peer review in an academic paper.

So she studies at Queens University. Not having a go at Queens but holy local elections Batman , she sounds like one of those apprentice politicians that get wheeled out as "yoof" on " Questions and Answers " when Willie O'Dea is not available.

When I have seen her quoted recently, I thought, not another mad bint. And this is the serious side, I also do feel that much that gets written by self proclaimed experts on men/gender cites spurious studies and censored or edited or biased statistics.

So why cant they interview the girls down in Karma Nightclub in Temple Bar instead or the patrons of Wrights Venue.

Tbh, looking into my magical mod crystal ball I see nothing but train wreck in this threads future.

We've plenty of threads on this sort of topic, discussing this sort of thing, so another one isn't really warranted. Not all posters/readers of the forum are as interested in these topics as others are. We don't allow the silly frivolous "I saw a hot girl today, Nyom nyom" type threads to take over so likewise we can't allow other topics to monopolize either.

    Cheers
