Please forgive me if this has been asked many times before (I'm sure it has), as I'm new to the board and will take me a while to get the hang of things.

Anyway, I'm planning on going travelling for a few months, something along the lines of flying from Dublin - Hong Kong, then over land through China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia to Singapore. From there I'm going to fly to Australia and see a bit of there and return to Bangkok on the way home.

Can anyone advise me as to where would be best to book flights? So far I've just gone to the multi city option on British Airways and Qantus websites. BA quotes me approx €2,300 and can't get a quote on Qantus.

Any advise on Visa's would be grateful too. So far I've found out,

    Hong Kong - on arrival.

China - in advance, or possibly in Hong Kong

Vietnam - In airport, but not sure about land border crossing (which is where I'd be coming from).

    Laos - On arrival.

    Thailand - On arrival.

    Malaysia - None required.

    Singapore - On arrival

Australia - e visa in advance.

Thank you for any replys or points in the right direction!
