What did the guest do to warrant that response?

I think he's one of the few broadcasters willing to ask the hard questions, push for answers and call bull**** when he's fed it.

He was just trying to get his point across. There are other ways to try and stop someone talking other than saying SHUT UP.

I am watching it now and was it Tom Cooney told to shut up? I would have removed him from the studio as he would not shut up and leave people talk.

    Bravo to Vincent Brown.

EDIT: Turns out it was him.

It gets better, he brings the provos into it.

He is a grumpy old codger who has no place on the tv.

Unless you agreed with his diatribe, did you??

It still doesn't excuse Tom Cooneys behaviour. Imagine being thrown off the show for not having the ability to keep his mouth shut and branding all that he disagreed with as propaganda. He really gave a good account for his beliefs didn't he.

Before he told Tom Cooney to "shut up", he had spent several minutes pleading with him to stop interrupting people and attempting to shout them down. He was given plenty of chances to be quiet or to make positive contributions to the discussion, but seemed to prefer diverting attention away from Israel (a common tactic amongst Israel's apologists) by shouting irrelevant stuff about Sinn Fein and the IRA instead. He should have been kicked out sooner.

he wasn't arrogant, the pro Israeli speakers were arrogant, he was very composed

but if I was a pro israeli army spokesperson I count vincent as arrogant

This is why I love Vincent Browne! He pulls no punches, calls a spade a spade and allows everyone a chance to explain their ideas unless their acting like a fool

Couldnt agree more,I enjoy his show on TV3 everynight, even if the subject matter is not great the interview style can be entertaining, when he has Enda Kennys pr man on he gives him some stick.Best thing on tv3 imho.
