Theory Test Query

Ok I live in Tallaght. I'm guessing my most convenient theory test centre is on Barrow Street. The only thing is I have no clue how to get there. I'll probably be getting the Luas or Bus but even then I have no reference points for getting there. I'm no stranger to the city centre just obviously not that part.

    Can anyone help?

Also, sidebar: How long after I get my Permit am I allowed to apply for the full test?

It's literally right beside the Grand Canal Dock Dart station (the group of buildings to the left as you exit the station) Maybe a Dart from town would be handiest in terms of directions.

Thanks for replies. I'm still unsure I thought I could get there from getting the Luas and walking or a bus in town. So my best bet is to go into town and get the dart out?

In terms of speed/cost then no. But if you're not sure where you're going otherwise, then most definitely yes :)

I'm from Tallaght myself, and been there a few* times. Handiest way is get the 50, 77 or 77a bus. Get off just before the garage (ask the driver to let you know) and it's just around the corner. Facing across the road from the bus depot, towards the Maxol garage, turn right. Then take the first left, that's Barrow Street. Head down there and across from the Spar (might be Eurospar?), just before the building site is Grand Mill Quay, that's the building you're looking for. Go up the stairs and in the revolving door. There's a receptionist will point you in to the office.

*no I don't keep failing! did my C theory and both CPC's, then my D theory :)

Thanks. So I just ask the bus driver about the garage near barrow street? And the first turn right is facing a bus depot and towards a maxol? Sorry just making sure I know exactly where I'm going.

I think people spend more time prepring for getting to the test than actually taking it..ha

Yeh, ask him to let you know when it's the last stop before the depot/terminus. It's just outside. Then across the road is Maxol, to the right of this is Barrow Street. Give yourself plenty of time to find it, and don't be afraid to ask someone when you get there.

Quickest way to get there is get the red Luas into Connolly and then the train out to Grand Canal Dock station.

Would you not just go to the one in town?

This is what the building looks like.
With your back to the DART station, it's up a bit on the left.

The test centre in Parnell street is gone, altho nobody seems to know it's gone. When i was doing my Theory Test i was told there was a centre in Town but apparently the only ones in Dublin are the one in Dublin 4 and the one on the northside in Santry and by the looks of it both of them are very awkward to get to. I went to Santry and just got a taxi to drop me up, instead of getting lost and getting frustrated.
