    does the irish army/navy take on civil engineers like the US???

    if so are there many people currently working as civil engineers for them at the moment??

    yes there is civil engineers in the corp of engineers. there are officers totaling 55 in COE, but there are QS, architects, ME and electrical in that no too.

    You can apply for a Cadetship and then apply for COE or alternatively apply for Direct Entry to COE. Direct entry is advertised when there is an immediate need for a certain skills, at the moment there are no civil engineers required. Have a look on military.ie or call the Competitions Section.

    Thanks holdfast for confirming what type of engineers the DF take - I've seen DE notifications for COE before but I wasn't 100% what kind of engineers they require.
